The oddest thing I saw today was four girls in "VOTE GREEN PARTY OR DIE" t-shirts shouting, "Go Obama!"

Hipster irony?

I'm gonna watch the flux thread on Susan's board with a big grin on my face. Bungalow Bill's really gonna be lost.

Dude actually made a poll years ago asking who was the greatest president. On said list he had the givens like Washington and Lincoln and Roosevelt but he also had W on there. He also voted for W and wrote a lengthy thesis explaining why.

Bungalow Bill's gonna have a field day on Susan's board . John McCain's loss is a disgrace for every hard-working American . If you don't understand that, you are not American .

Guess I'm not "American", then.

Dots and Loops is a good album. So is Sound-Dust. Aluminum Tunes is pretty awesome. Mars Audiac Quintet has some catchy songs, but I prefer the loungy-sounding vibes of the later albums to the organ drone of MAQ. I've been trying to get into Emperor Tomato Ketchup, but I think I'm going to have to listen to it quite a few more times to start appreciating it. It seems like the least accessible of all the Stereolab albums I've heard so far.

Re: Starting a radio station [Smiley Smile Message Board]

Don't know how legal this is, but when my college radio station broadcast AM back in the forties and fifties, they hooked into the municipal water supply, and used it as a sort of giant antennae.  This allowed us to reach all sorts of random places--possibly a less conventional option for extending the reach of an AM station without forking out for a bunch of antenaes...just use the pipes!

Hey, I have a question. Is the July 4th 1981 show circulating? I know that a few clips were shown in American Band and Endless Harmony, but is the whole show circulating like the July 5th show?

There is a great concert from 1988 that is a pro shot. I can't remember where it's from though. I think it was Arizona. It was on YouTube, but the guy that had it was suspended. Carl sang a great version of Forever at the show.

Maybe this has already been covered, but is there any way to tell if a 1966 pressing of "Pet Sounds" was made from the L.A. or the N.Y. master?  For instance, by looking at the number stamped in the runout grooves?
