Everyone I know who knows Spanish absolutely hates the Spanish version of Kokomo.
The did change the lyrics quite  abit to fit the rhythm in Spanish. I speak fluent Spanish and am aware that often when English speakers sing in another language they are harshly criticized for their poor language skills no matter how it sounds. Even Los Lobos get criticized in Mexico for having "weird Spanish".

But not Mariyn Rovell-Rutherford!

I think this is the concert: http://members.tripod.com/~fun_fun_fun/4-28-95.html

Says on that site it was Jeff Foskett singing.

EDIT: Wow, I just got my hands on this concert and Don't Worry Baby is AMAZING. I'm convulsing with joyous laughter over how good it is.

Surely they professionally filmed at least one show with the Blondie/Ricky lineup?

What does racism have to do with fear of visiting South Central? Are you assuming that anyone who is afraid of visiting South Central is a racist? Please elaborate....

It has quite a lot to do with it, but I'm certainly making no such assumptions.  It's just a topic of interest to me.

It does bother me that every time a thread about visiting LA comes up that somebody inevitably mentions how dangerous Hawthorne or Inglewood is.  It's usually from people that haven't spent a lot of time there.  And in my opinion, and "danger" in those areas comes from the reaction to the apartheid that can happen when people are afraid to visit the area.

That's not a dig at anybody in particular, like I said, negatively self-perpetuating anthropological systems are just an interesting topic to me.

Probably Matt Jardine, he was handling the falsettos in 95

Yep, that was Matt.
And yes, I have that issue of ESQ, but sadly, no working scanner.  Sad
Sorry!

While certain singers may be more expressive when singing solo, it doesn't mean they are good group singers.   Sure, Dennis is a great, soulful, expressive solo singer, but as a group singer, he doesn't hold a candle to Al.

That said, I'd rather hear Dennis in the group than Bruce, who doesn't blend at all.

I think only fragments Dennis had filmed exist. It's kind of like the Hawaii 67 show where you have to edit a lot of things together to get one song. It wasn't a pro shot show that had complete songs.

So, being that date, did Landy get credit as a co writer/producer as Mike Love stated was necessary in order for Brian to record?

If I recall correctly, Timothy White's book on the Beach Boys and the Southern Californian Experience (or something like that) had some information on at least Brian's divorce settlement with Marilyn. She seemed to do have done well. She still goes by Wilson does she not? Is it just too much of a hassle to change your name or does she like any fame/connections that associate her with the name.

I am sure all members are doing well finacially when you compate it with the average joe. Doesn't Dave Marks royalties from just playing on the early albums supplement his income really well? So I'd imagine Al does allright too even if he didn't write too much.

There is a blog out there that claims to have a recording of a Beach Boys concert in Las Vegas from 1995 with Brian singing the lead. Is it really Brian? The sound quality isn't that great, so it's hard to tell.

Yes, Brian rejoined the Boys on stage in Vegas, April of '95, for the first time in 5 years.  It was well documented in ESQ with picutures from the soundcheck and the performance appearing in the September issue.  Brian sang Don't Worry Baby, Surfer Girl, and In My Room.
It might be the less than perfect sound quality, but Brian's vocal sounds amazingly decent. I'm hearing somebody singing with him though. Was Adrian Baker still a member of the backing band? It sounds like him to me.

Do you happen to have that magazine you mentioned? I'd love to see those pictures.
