Four from me. Charming record.

About the same as the first album. I can listen to it, theres a song or two, maybe even three that are ok...

Actually, it is the lyrics that do me in more than anything. Not that bad...just spectacularly dull. Sort of a Survivor feel to the album.

I like a few of the songs...

The group filmed almost a whole concert in Paris in 1970 and in my opinion this is the best TV app of the group that exists

I put in the fourth vote for The Who, can't match that energy

Without out a doubt it would have to be Buddy Holly. He was a Brian Wilson prototype and I would give my left arm to step into some alt-universe where he didn't die in that plane crash to listen to what gorgeous music he would have created.
I would most like to hear what John Coltrane and Jimi Hendrix would have done if they could have continued their careers.
I suspect Coltrane would have gone electric for a while.  I'm guessing Hendrix would have played some jazz with Miles Davis then made a pop album when he needed to replenish his bank account.

Number 2 would be Kurt
It would be really nice - if you could bring him back cured of his depression otherwise he would likely be pissed off to be back.

Imagine Nirvana if they moved Dave Grohl to Rhythm Guitar, brought in a new drummer, and fanned out the music writing responsibilities between Grohl and Cobain. It would have been a partnership to rival Lennon and McCartney IMO.
'I Want To Hold Your Hand' in E minor?  But would it sell?

Oh my god, did we just chase another honored guest away?

Come on, guys... we gotta stop doing that.
Don't worry, AGD will eventually come back.

About Steven Gaines, I guess that anything he ever knew that would interest us was already printed in his book. Which is and always be a piece of tabloid crap, btw.

There's that Blondie'n'Ricky era footage in Endless Harmony, open air, where Mike's wearing a purple shirt with a sun. 'Sail on Sailor' is overdubbed, but I don't remember if it's the studio version or a live one. Is that one of those minimal/soundless footage cases?

About a project like this.... Even in our days, when folks don't really feel like paying for music, I think a well-assembled Led Zeppelin (2003) style DVD would sell. Folks bought that one cause there was a feeling that all the goodies were thrown in and it was worth the price. There is stuff, but the costs to license all of those... Ok, forget it.

Ditto for a "Anthology" CD set with all the tracks that aren't included in the twofers, from Lonely Days to Carry me Home. Ok, forget it part II.

got this one as well. Indeed a great cover on this format. (doesn't change the music on it for the better though...  Grin  )

Cosmic, please desribe the venue for me. The show I saw last Sunday night was at a casino and we sure didn't get many of those songs you listed. Not happy about that! From what Scott has said here, the casino shows are different than a theatre or such. Just interested so I can post a follow up.

The show was at the Tennessee Theater here in Knoxville, TN.  It is an absolutely gorgeous old theater that may seat about 2000 at the most, maybe less.  I'm not really sure.  The theater was renovated a few years ago and a sound team came in to make sure it would sound incredible.  I'm not sure what all they did, but it worked!!  It seems to be a favorite for most artists that visit.  When I saw Elvis Costello there, he kept going on about how great it sounded and how lovely it was.  At the Beach Boys show, Bruce mentioned a couple of times how great it was to be playing in our beautiful theater.  It's definitely a different setting than a casino would be.

I think it would entertaining to see a professionally produced DVD or two, done as a compilation, taking the best available songs/performances and put in some kind of chronological order, almost like a career overview.
You mean An American Band?

No, strictly live performances, no interviews. Start with the 1962 "Surfin' Safari" clip, go right through some of the 1963-64-65 TV appearances, into some of the rarer late 60's/early 70's stuff, right through to 1998. I think it would be an enjoyable watch.

This again? Seriously? The GOK that came out last year was Brian and band the whole way. However, the video clip they posted on the website was edited with the original GOK. If you can't hear that, then seriously...stop listening to music.

A question for those in the know, did the BB really perform "Bush Vibrations" in person, or was Dom Priore making that up? I was around then, but in quite a haze.

I've never called you (or even thought you were) a liar - your ears lie to your brain.

(see my almost-funny remark: "I guess that's what age does to your hearing system")

(*resists urge to make a stupid joke about the effects of age on vision*)

So you're calling me - and Bruce - liars.

So the word of the person in question isn't good enough for you.

Fine. I don't need your stamp of approval, and I don't need to have my judgment and integrity challenged in public on this forum.

I'm out of here.
