He plays drums? I never knew that. That's pretty cool.

Superstition being a prime example!

The originals are cool, but I absolutely detest the arrangements on the second side. Oh my god, they are so cheesy. What the hell where they thinking with Santa Claus is Comin' to Town?!

The 1983 was supposed to but never did have the book. It's ok but the later vinyl ones are better. I wish I had the 1985 because that's the first time a lot of the basic Smile versions were heard.

Re: Paley Sessions, your opinions... [Smiley Smile Message Board]

In my opinion the entire tracks are sped up.  I brought them into Goldwave and through trial and error slowed them down until they sounded correct to my ear in terms of pitch and tempo.

Here's an example, "Slightly American Music' as it appeared on Landylocked and a slowed down version.  My choice of speed was entirely subjective it just sounded "right" to my ears...

For those who are into meanings of SMiLE era songs, please help me out on this one.

"Well, you're welcome to come"..... Where? Anywhere? How about "You're welcome to come...on the SMiLE trip." Yes? No? Was it just a throwaway B-side?

Mornin' Beat -- Some cite the late 60s tune "Walkin'" as an antecedent, and the underlying riffs are similar, but the song sounds quite different.

They sound like the same song to my ears, musically.
